RMS CET Eligibility: Everything You Need to Know

The Rashtriya Military School Common Entrance Test (RMS CET) is a national-level exam conducted by the Directorate of Military Schools for admission to Class 6 and Class 9 in five prestigious Rashtriya Military Schools located at Chail, Ajmer, Belgaum, Bangalore, and Dholpur. The exam is held in December every year, and the results are declared in February.

RMS CET Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate must be a male citizen of India.
  • The candidate must have passed Class 5 or Class 8 from a recognized school at the time of admission.
  • The candidate must be medically fit and free from any disease or disability that may interfere with studies or training.
  • The candidate must not have been expelled or withdrawn from any school for misconduct or indiscipline.
  • The candidate must not have any criminal record or involvement in any anti-social activities.
  • The age limit for Class 6 is 10 to 12 years, and for Class 9, it is 13 to 15 years as of March 31 of the year of admission. There is a relaxation of six months in the upper age limit for SC/ST candidates.

How to Apply for RMS CET

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for RMS CET by filling out the online application form and paying the application fee of Rs. 600 for General and OBC candidates and Rs. 300 for SC/ST candidates. Required documents such as birth certificate, caste certificate, domicile certificate, etc., must be submitted along with the application form.

Candidates can download the admit card from the official website before the exam date and carry it along with a valid photo ID proof to the exam center.

RMS CET Exam Pattern

The RMS CET exam pattern and syllabus vary depending on the class applied for:

  • Class 6: The exam consists of multiple-choice questions from English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and General Knowledge. The duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes.
  • Class 9: The exam consists of multiple-choice questions from English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and General Knowledge. The duration is 3 hours.

Candidates who qualify for the written exam are called for an interview and a medical examination before the final selection. The merit list is prepared based on performance in the written exam, interview, and medical examination.
